First ... mid mounted mowers (all with SIDE
DISCHARGE) WILL NOT have the ability, no matter how much HP you have to->
" slash through everything without a hiccup"
By design they are made for routine lawn mowing
and grooming.
They are not designed to handle EXTREME tall and/or wet grasses and
weeds (on the first cut). In these type conditions, you can raise the
deck up higher and clip off the top half of the grass on the first
pass. Allow a little drying time, then on the second /third passes ->
lower the deck down to the desired cutting height.
OR
In these type conditions, you cheat over to the side and take LESS THAN
FULL SWATH with the deck ... allowing the deck to clean itself out much
easier.
By design they clip the grass for the cut and then
allow it to pass through and around the other blades so that the clipping
are cut several times before being discharged out the side.
This allows for a much smaller clipping/debris and
therefore a prettier curb appeal JUST AFTER mowing is completed.
REAR MOUNTED FINISHING MOWERS (with rear
discharge) are designed to clip the grass and QUICKLY discharge it out
the rear.
This allows for a much larger clipping/debris and therefore a less prettier curb appeal JUST AFTER mowing is completed compared to the side discharge mm mowers.
This allows for a much faster mowing speeds and
less clogging.
Note.. usually after the first day..... the curb
appeal issue is GONE... as the clipping settle down on the lawn
surface... Usually on the second day , you can see no difference.
