New shoppers need a little "Horse-sense” about HORSEPOWER.

 (steve's opinion)
New shoppers need a little "Horse-sense” about HORSEPOWER.

Engine HP is one of many many factors that determined how much "work" a tractor could perform.

First time shoppers must be very careful NOT TO base all your comparisons and shopping "at horsepower".

Weight, Tires, Dimensions, Hydraulics, Speeds Ranges vs. engine torque levels all add up to "real work performance".

Remember and believe that 1 HP can out-pull 20 HP.

Try it yourself.  Hitch one "pulling horse/mule off a farm to a twenty HP lawn tractor".

It one vs. twenty and the one will win a pulling contest every time.  The same issues apply when comparing tractors with a full menu of different spec.  That determine "HOW POWERFUL" it is.
More importantly, how long the tractor will serve you with dependable, maintenance/repair free pleasure.   In addition, please be careful to consider the following issues.  Operator comfort is essential for safe operation.

Consider every potential operator. Their needs, concerns and abilities are important.  Will children, ladies, inexperienced tractor operators be using this equipment?

Let's focus on their safety and comfort when making model selections. If you are set and comfortable with your model selection -- fine. If not, work through the issues to make sure that the tractor will meet and accomplish your tasks / goals / requirements.

The quality of the dealer's assembly, pre-delivery test and adjustments are the most important "key" to long-term customer satisfaction.   Care for excellence by well trained and experience dealer service personnel during assembly and pre-delivery testing usually eliminate premature service problems and reoccurring warranty and service problems.

Happy shopping and best wishes,
Steve
